Ahhh last I posted it was early spring and now we're nearing the end of summer. Let's catch up. A few things to report, after a loong time in the making, I finally have a real logo! I hope everyone likes it.. and if you don't, keep it to yourself ;p
I also have a new nice fancy business card unlike the plain black ones I have been using. If you'll notice the little circles on the bottom, I am offering a frequent buyer reward. Every $10 you spend gets you a punch, and after $100, you'll get 20% off your entire order.
I've been adding little touches to things like painting blackbirds on my bags and stamping birds on the back of clothing tags and something I am thinking of trying out in the future is having a certain stamp mean the item is discounted/on sale. It's just a good way to clear out old stock and bring in the new!
Overall, this summer has been a good one for Blackbird Attic, with July topping sales of all previous months and I hope it just keeps going in that direction. More and more people are hearing about the shop and coming to check it out. I am optimistic about the store's growth and still striving to improve on anything I can.
We introduced a baby and children's vintage section this summer and will be putting the items online, along with many other things carried in the shop (goals goals goals!).
Another thing to look out for soon is our fall look book shot by the talented Courtney Scalzo. Below is a sneak peek.
In other, more personal news, I am refreshed after a 2 day camping and hiking trip. Would have stayed longer if I could, but it was enough to give me some perk back. I grew up camping, but in the last 5 years, have only gone 1 other time. Now that I am out of the city and we have a car, it will be a lot easier to plan trips next year.
We went to North-South Lake and hiked around there as well as Kaaterskill Falls. I highly highly recommend going. A few shots:
Write soon.. I promise!
