Mad About Vintage Fashion

If you walk down the halls of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, you will no doubt see the quintessential style of the modern 1960's working woman. In a decade adorned with posh cuts and polka dots it doesn't take too much to recreate the looks from that great time period. So, grab your pearls and a fab pair of kitten heels and you can step right out of the television set into a mad vintage fashion obsession.

TRENDWATCH: Boho-Chic

Boho-chic is a style of fashion inspired by bohemian and hippie influences. It has been seen since the early 90's and has repeatedly re-surfaced in varying guises. Check out some of our boho-chic pieces here at Blackbird Attic:

This over-sized jacket from Alafoss is neck to calves boho/nordic-chic I suggest wearing it open for an effortlessly chic look. The piece was made in Iceland from 100% pure virgin wool.

When it comes to boho, accessories are not to be overlooked. Consider adding pieces that reflect the same trend. I chose this fringe satchel to achieve a cohesive look. The bag is a soft, high quality, rich chocolate brown. Wear it cross-body or off your shoulder.

Here are some more options to take boho-chic to the next level.

The first piece is handcrafted by Toony Jewelrey. Long necklaces work best with boho looks and I really like the handmade look of this one (Beaded tassle necklace; $22) Next is another beaded necklace, also handmade with alternating stone and wooden beads. The boho in this one is so easily detectable. Consider matching  pieces that are less over-the-top bohemian looking with those that epitomize the trend. This keeps the outfit interesting and it lets you flaunt your creativity (Beaded necklace, on sale $5). Lastly the black braided fringe belt would work well with a maxi skirt, or a long dress ($10).
