Dress: H&M
Stockings: www.etsy.com/shop/daixiaole
Necklace: www.etsy.com/shop/luxedeluxe
Belt/Shoes: Thrifted

These photos aren't actually from today, but I wanted to share anyway. (Didn't notice the annoying hanger string on my dress until now and my shoes look like they need a little wipe-down, haha). But anyway, I got this dress from H&M recently. It is super soft and was part of a buy 1 get 1 free deal they had. I think you can pair it with pretty much anything since it's pretty simple, but I can see that there are a lot of little different things going on in this outfit. Either way, I was comfortable and felt pretty put together! And the necklace, I love it!

So today on my day off I went thrifting. Thrifting without a car requires a bit more planning. Usually I wait till I can borrow a car but it's hard to get a car during the day / during the middle of the week. Luckily we can walk to the train and there is a thrift store within walking distance from the train. Thrifting is a lot of fun! I guess I got into it in high school. I tended to look more through the jewelry, purses, shoes, and random decorations than clothing though. I still use a purse I found years ago and a bunch of the jewelry as well. At this thrift store, I find those sections to be lacking and another reason I will be excited when we have a car is because we will be able to explore many more thrift stores! I am glad my boyfriend enjoys thrifting as well. He actually also loves to fix up things. He has been fixing things up in my store since he isn't working full time.

Here is something he fixed up! He actually didnt want to take it (found it for free outside an antique shop) because it was pretty beat up, but I liked the frame shape and knew with some paint it would look nice! Too bad we didnt get a before photo, but the frame was a little loose at some corners/had random fake metal on them and needed to be painted, the mirrors dirty, and in the middle were some random short shelves. I wanted a larger jewelry display since the necklaces were crowded on the one I had. He just staple gunned some fabric I bought onto poster-board and on the sides of that are poster board decoupaged using ads from a reproduction of an old sear's catalog. He also used that to decoupage the fitting room. I think he is going to paint a little design on the frame as well. To the right you can see another project he did, he decoupaged/collaged the back of the shelves with some scrapbook paper. Lots of decoupage projects going on! (Ps that just means he used wallpaper paste to stick it to whatever, but you can also use modpodge or elmers glue mixed with water). I think we might paint the shoe shelf black as well. My boyfriend is for hire by the way! Random 'make it pretty' projects, painting walls, whatever.

Anyway, back to thrifting, we also had to be more particular since we had to carry everything, but luckily(?) there weren't the best choices ever, but I do love what I found! When we were finished we had some extra time before the train and there is a cool place to eat called Soul Dog right by the train. They have a delicious mint honey tea I crave and since we had veggie dogs for lunch, we both got grilled cheese and a chunky tomato soup, yum.

Those tights are so interesting to look at. It's nicely paired with a simple black dress.
