The hottest party ticket in town, Blackbird Attic's 4-Year Anniversary & Fashion Blogger Styling Event, falls on Second Saturday, April 12th in Beacon, NY. During the monthly citywide function, that features evening gallery showings, music events and more we're commemorating four years of bringing affordable vintage, handmade and consignment goods to the Beacon area.

Most anniversaries are celebrated with cake and a party. The Blackbird Attic Four-Year Anniversary Event on Saturday, April 12th is no exception.

To commemorate four years of bringing affordable vintage, handmade, and consignment goods to the Beacon, NY area, Blackbird Attic is hosting a fourth-year anniversary celebration and closet sale hosted by New York Fashion Blogger and stylist Sheree Morrison of It's Not That Deep. Morrison has been fashion blogging for over two years and has been featured in Who What Wear, Lucky Magazine, New York Magazine: The Cut, and more, for pairing amazing vintage finds to high-end designer and everything in between.

   

A former fashion buyer for a four chain store in Manhattan as well as French Connection and Banana Republic, her passion for fashion has never dissipated after leaving that life behind a few years ago. Her style is on-trend, creative and classic and Morrison will personally be on hand at the Anniversary Event to share her closet and her styling tips to guests between 6 PM and 9 PM. You do not want to miss this closet sale!

Blackbird Attic Third Anniversary

Blackbird Attic's Third Anniversary event was yesterday. Anyone who knows the story of my opening knows I kind of fell into it shortly after moving to Beacon.. although it was always a dream to open a shop, I basically walked into it and haven't left yet. I have been living here for as long as I lived in New York City (where I moved up from, like many others), and while I still miss my hometown Rochester now and then, Beacon has become my home and this shop is a huge part of my life and character.

The weather wasn't the best yesterday, with a thunderstorm and all, but thank you to the friends and customers that stopped by to congratulate me. The Laura Berger art show and prints are up and for sale, and I will be taking more photos for another post soon. I can ship! The show will be up till June 7th.

Two years, it's been!

Ahh sorry for the delay in updating this thing. It's just so much easier to post photos on facebook and have that be that, but I know blogging is a whole other world and some people don't even check facebook. So yeah, here is a post for you blog readers. (and I will try to write more, I promise).

It has officially been two years that Blackbird Attic has been in business. April was the marker to be exact. Things have progressed nicely. I have hundreds of consignors and now, an easier way for them to check their inventory online. (By the way, I am always accepting new consignors, read more about that here). I also have an inventory page where unfortunately I do not (and probably will not) have many (if any) photos, but the brand names and sizes are there to give you an idea of what is in stock!And that is still exciting, right? I think so.

Hm what else is new.. what else.. well, I finally have a sign! It's been a work in progress and a long time coming, but now people shouldn't have any trouble finding me ; ).

So.. photo time:

I bought black balloons once again to commemorate (they add a sort of dark festiveness). The art of the month was created by Double Parlour out of San Fransisco and is available for purchase untill June 4th. The sign was cut and painted by Kalene Rivers. I served a white wine spritzer with strawberries, along with some cheese/crackers, and delicious cupcakes made by my friend who is available to make cupcakes for your event as well ! I ended the night at a friend's house with a little sparkler show. Lot's of smoke, little sparkler action, but a fun time indeed. Nice weather, year two, bring it on.
